Sharing this ankara fabric with my mum

"My mum bought this ankara fabric for herself but gave it to me hoping that she would return to the store and replace the one she gave me. Unfortunately for her the store didn't have the fabric anymore. I decided to split the fabric with her because I knew I wouldn't be needing much of it.
After I had sewn mine, she fell in love with the style so much she was inspired and came up with her own version in a matter of minutes. I was very impressed. I guess it runs in the family ;)
I sketched her design for her and we had the same tailor make it. We had an event coming up and she had planned on wearing something else but I convinced her to wear this. Don't we look great?!" Photographed by Akudo.
