Traditional Nigerian wrapper

Enma:

"In my culture, women sometimes tie traditional wrappers (a piece of fabric wrapped around the waist) and wear it with a blouse. Some tie one wrapper while others tie two wrappers (layering the shorter wrapper atop a longer wrapper or a long skirt). In the picture below, I have my mum's wrapper on. She made her second piece into a skirt and sometimes layers this wrapper atop the matching skirt. When I saw it I knew it would go so well with my blouse which I designed (purchased the fabric in NYC). Honestly, the blouse will go with so many colors and I look forward to wearing it again.I love wrappers because the fabric can be used to make anything else when you feel like it."
