That 70’s look

So I recently changed my hair, and it’s been a total hit! I’ve received nothing but positive reviews. My new hairdo has inspired me to try different outfits, including my outfit from today’s post.

In the past, I contemplated pairing my mustard turtleneck with these bell bottom/flare pants because I felt the colors complimented each other nicely. However, I never imagined that I would throw it all the way back to the 70’s until this afro came along. My hair reminded me that turtlenecks were hot in the 70’s, which gave me a second reason to pair this top with my bell bottoms, another 70’s favorite.

When I saw I was on a roll, I decided to take it up a notch by accessorizing with these platform heels and round sunglasses. There isn’t much to say except that I think I did a decent job at achieving a 70’s look - not to toot my own horn. So what’s the lesson here? Do not underestimate the power of a hairstyle. Not only can your hair transform your look, but it can also inspire you to try something different. Trust me, I know! Because prior to this hairdo I was never into 70’s fashion. I was more of a 20’s, 50’s and 80’s fashion kinda girl. However, I’ve added 70’s to the list, thanks to my afro.

ON A SEPARATE NOTE: Just for fun, I traded my 70’s inspired platforms for modern black pumps. I wanted to compare both looks. What do you think? Do you like the retro feel the platforms give or do you prefer the modernized pumps?
