The sure way to pull off an ankara/gingham mix print skirt

In the past, I've paired Ankara with checkered print (aka gingham). It was only a matter of time before I'd design a piece using both fabrics. In choosing which ankara print to use, I had to keep my mixed print rule in mind. I knew I wanted a blue checkered print, so I found an ankara fabric with a common color - the colors blue and white in this case.

Once I had my mix print skirt made, the next challenge was finding the right pieces to pair it with. I decided to play it safe by pairing the skirt with a white top. I knew I couldn't go wrong with white - not because both prints have the color white but because white goes with everything, like I've explained many times.

Besides the mix print, the style of the skirt is simple. I decided to style along the lines of my choker top by going for a cool but edgy look. So I finished my look with a two shade denim vest, which compliments my skirt nicely and white sneakers.
